The diesels come as a 4.1 litre V8 or a 3.0 litre V6, the petrol-electric hybrid comes with a 3.0 litre V6 petrol power plant. The most popular engine configuration is the smaller diesel; the 3.0 litre provides enough power, is the most economical and is the cheapest to buy.
The suspension in the new Touareg differs depending on which model you opt for, the SE model comes with the standard suspension which is soft enough to be comfortable yet firm enough not to produce body roll.
